I am a tutor with extensive experience studying and teaching English. I graduated from Truman State University with a bachelor's degree in English. I also have a minor in theatre. I am currently working at a non-profit organization. The majority of my experience as a tutor stems from working in the writing center at my college. My experience is primarily in helping students write essays and helping students improve their basic English writing skills. I am comfortable tutoring students in writing, reading, essay editing, literature, English language and composition, and grammar and mechanics. I am also able to help students prepare for standardized tests. My philosophy as a tutor emphasizes allowing students to be autonomous in their work. I am there to help, but simply providing a student with the right answer won't really help them. My goal is to help my students learn to be their best. I don't have a particular subject I am the most passionate about, but I do like helping students break down their writing. In my free time, I like to read fantasy novels, create art, watch cartoons, and play video games. I tend to be artistic and get along best with other creative people. However, I am flexible and can easily adapt to a variety of different interests.
